Coyotes Hire Jim Brewer as new VP Marketing

Phoenix Coyotes Chief Operating Officer Mike Nealy announced today that the Coyotes have hired Jim Brewer as Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

Brewer joins the Coyotes with an extensive background in marketing, communications and sponsorship development at three prominent Valley organizations – the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Zoo and Arizona State University.  Most recently, Brewer served as Senior Director of Marketing for Arizona Technology Enterprises (AzTE) and ASU SkySong, where he developed and implemented marketing and communications strategies for ASU’s official technology transfer company (AzTE), as well as ASU SkySong, which attracts and supports a variety of technology and research firms.

Prior to his tenure at ASU, Brewer was Executive Vice President of Sales, Communications and Community Development at the Phoenix Zoo after spending the previous 15 years in various capacities with the Phoenix Suns organization, including Vice President of Fan Development & Retention, Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Partnership Activation. 

During his career with the Suns, Brewer was responsible for implementing numerous award-winning initiatives, including the launch of Suns.com, the Fans First fan loyalty program and the Sixth Man customer retention initiative.  Brewer ended his Suns career as Vice President of Partnership Activation, developing and implementing activation plans for existing corporate partners while also helping secure new partners as an integral member of the sales team.

A fourth-generation Arizona native, Brewer is a graduate of Arizona State University and Shadow Mountain High School.  He resides in Phoenix with his wife, Kathy, and three daughters, Katie (17), Jenny (14) and Mary (10).
