Bull $hit!

The Miami Heat fired its season ticket sales staff after the team announced that they have sold out of season tickets.

Typically, if you do your job really, really well, you get a promotion. Or you get a raise. Or at the very least, you get to keep your job.

In a statement, the team confirmed the terminations Friday afternoon, saying that with an “exhausted” inventory of season-tickets “we no longer require a season ticket sales team to sell tickets.”

Heat VP of Sales Stephen Weber canned about 30 ticket sales people Friday morning, according to the story from the Miami Herald.

Miami has more than 6,000 on their waiting list.

Here is an idea – Customer Service Liasons.

One of the biggest problems in sports is customer service.  It’s one thing to make the sale, but how about the service after the sale.  Retaining season ticket holders can also be tough, especially if the Heat fails to win the Championship.

If the Heat think they have that down, then how about moving those sales team associates to selling program ads, or in-arena signage or how about getting out in the community.
